It snowed a few weeks ago. And not a wimpy snow either. A full fledged--scrape 3 inches off you car, snow. Avery was DELIGHTED. And I was delighted watching her experience it for the first time.
Just catching up with pictures. These are from Oct. 21st. A typical morning.
Avery has started hiding in little tiny spaces. She thinks its hilarious. I think its mostly cute, except when we are in H&M and I am down on the ground looking for her feet, screaming because I can't find her and she is giggling in the middle of a clothes rack.
She is such a little mimic. She loves to copy whatever we are doing. Flossing, sneezing, picture-taking...you name it.
Avery LOVES to be outside. In fact she'll often stand by a window and point and say "outside...outside" until I take her out. What are we going to do this winter? She loves to stand in the window sill and look out. She is delighted by all the nature to be had out there, especially if she is lucky enough to spot a dog or a bird.
Avery was not too sure that she liked her pink kitty costume...
Until she realized it was the ticket to all the suckers she could fit in her tiny little fists,
And then she decided it wasn't so bad.
Halloween is the pefect holiday for her, since it combines knocking on doors, lots of people telling her how cute she is, and candy... all things she loves.
Monday it was cold and very stormy, so making pie seemed like the logical thing to do. Avery stood right up at the counter and we each rolled dough with our own rolling pins, cut out leaf-shaped crust cookies, and had a delightful time making messes. Looks like its time to make that girl an apron!
I've been having some computer memory problems lately (as in I filled it all up with video) which has been the reason for the lack of posting. However, Avery sure is growing and changing fast as ever! She is saying TONS of words now...some days she'll just spout out a new one and I am amazed.
Some of her favorite things to say at 17 months are: Doggy (always accompanied by woof woof) She stands by the window in the morning waiting for the neighbors to let their dog out, saying "Dog? Woof Woof, Dog?" Apple (she thinks all fruits as well as some non-fruits...ahem...are called apples) Eyes, Nose, Teeth Bye-bye, Hello, Hi Yeah, Yes, No (almost always accompanied by vigorous head nodding) That, This ( always accompanied by vigorous finger pointing) What is this? What is that? (one of the first things she said...so curious!) I see you (I would always say that when I came in to get her from a nap) Cute (she hears that one a lot) Poo-poo Bite, Drink Flower Yum! Mom, Dad, and I think she might say Danielle...not exactly sure yet if that's what she's saying Up...which should not be confused with "op", which means pop...and I'm mortified that she even knows what that is. I blame Travis. Baby! (so excited when she sees a baby) Please, Thank You Soft Book
She also loves to sing and dance and its pretty much the cutest thing ever.
